Strange error whilst using the SQL Client

Hi,

VDI is the Virtual Device Interface. Retrospect uses a Microsoft API to
communicate with the VDI for backup and restore. Do you get any errors
in the Retrospect operations log?

Have you tried restarting the computer?

In June we did write up a bug for SQLVDI errors being displayed in the
Windows event log that don't seem to impact the backup itself.

Subject: Strange error whilst using the SQL Client

SQLVDI: Loc=IdentifySQLServer. Desc=MSSQL$SQL. ErrorCode=(1060)The
specified service does not exist as an installed service.
. Process=3684. Thread=4084. Client. Instance=SQL. VD=.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I'm getting the above error message in my event viewer on the SQL server
every time retrospect backs something up on the server.

Does anyone have any thoughts to what the cause could be?

Immediately after that error I get a notification that the database has
been backed up.

Thanks,
-Drew
