Windows XP SP3, latest retrospect update: permissions problem

I'm experiencing very similar problem, even without installing sp3. I have open file backup license. A lot of times, I will be getting a lot of insufficient permission like the following:

Script: LITS
Client: lit209
Date: 9/16/2008
Can't use Open File Backup option for Documents on lit209, error -1017 (insufficient permissions)

When I called the retrospect support, I was told it's a known bug.

I tested this one time by having a text file opened in a workstation and manually backup the file after first saving it. The server can backup the opened saved file just fine, but error like above will be thrown out, for some odd reason.

I'm very curious to know what is the problem too.

I have several clients on XPSP3 (using Retro Mutli Server 7.5 and 7.6)
with no issues.

What type of permissions problems are you experiencing (specific
errors)?

What version of Retrospect?

Subject: Windows XP SP3, latest retrospect update: permissions problem

Last week we installed Retrospect's latest Windows update and Windows XP
SP3. After the installation backups were failing due to permissions
issues.
Uninstalling SP3 seems to have fixed the problem.... BUT can anyone tell
me
the root cause and how we might do the SP3 install.

and/or does Retrospect have a team looking into this yet?
