Retro Mac OS X 10.5.6 Client 6.2.234 wouldn't launch

Did you try restarting the machine before going to all that effort 
and reinstalling?

Retrospect.app is just a Cocoa application, nothing particularly 
sophisticated from that standpoint. System log might have been 
helpful to observe as you attempted to launch it (or not).
