Dear Retrospect Beta Tester,
Today EMC Insignia announces the availability Beta Release #2 of the all
new Retrospect Client for Macintosh, as a public beta version for
immediate user testing. While this new client uses the same User
Interface as our prior releases, it has a totally new engine under the
hood and ships as a Universal binary. This new engine will provide users
with greater stability and make the release of new Retrospect Client
features much easier when the Retrospect X beta becomes available later
this year.
The first beta version resulted in great direct feedback from beta
testers, allowing EMC Insignia Engineers to fix a number of bugs. This
type of valuable help from Beta testers will make for an outstanding
final release.
The Retrospect Client public Beta #2 codenamed "Unicorn" is the first
phase of our multiphase release schedule for Retrospect X, which will be
in beta during the 2nd half of 2008. When we
release phase 2, the Retrospect X application with add-ons, it will take
advantage of new features rolled out with this client. Details on the
upcoming Retrospect X product can be found at:

We're excited about our new features and hope you will test them, but
please remember to put safety first. Although we have tested these
features thoroughly, it is Beta software. Please do not rely on this
release for your primary backups.

you for an initial access password.
In addition to the new Retrospect Client software, you will be required
